Eric Thomason is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, healthcare executive, and behavioral health strategist with more than a decade of experience advancing psychiatric, addiction, and crisis care across rural and underserved communities.

Throughout his career, he has combined clinical expertise with executive leadership to develop innovative behavioral health programs that improve access to care while strengthening healthcare systems.

Clinical experience across the care continuum

Over the past decade, Eric has built his clinical expertise across the full spectrum of behavioral health care, from inpatient psychiatry and crisis stabilization to outpatient psychiatry and community-based services. Working directly with patients at every level of care has shaped his practical, patient-centered approach to psychiatric treatment.

Among the most rewarding aspects of his work is helping patients come off of unnecessary or harmful medications safely and thoughtfully. He believes that good psychiatric care sometimes means reducing treatment burden, not adding to it, and he partners with patients to find the right balance for their long-term wellbeing.

Advancing rural behavioral health

Recognized for his expertise in behavioral health operations, Eric has successfully secured and implemented multiple federal and state grant-funded initiatives, developed innovative service delivery models, and worked extensively with healthcare organizations, law enforcement agencies, judicial systems, community partners, and state policymakers to improve behavioral health infrastructure.

Clinically, Eric specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric disorders across the lifespan, with particular expertise in mood disorders, anxiety disorders, ADHD, trauma-related conditions, substance use disorders, and co-occurring mental health and addiction disorders. He is passionate about delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care while building strong therapeutic relationships that empower individuals to achieve lasting recovery and improved quality of life.

Education & founding vision

A native of southwest Missouri, Eric earned his Master of Science in Nursing with specialization as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from the University of Missouri–Kansas City and also holds a Master of Business Administration from Pittsburg State University. His unique combination of clinical and business education allows him to bridge the gap between exceptional patient care and sustainable healthcare innovation.

Eric is proud to call Southwest Missouri home. When he isn't caring for patients, you'll most likely find him with his wife and three daughters, coaching on the ballfield, spending time in the woods, or tackling projects around the farm. His faith in family, community, and the outdoors has shaped both his personal values and his commitment to serving the people of the region he has always called home.
